Why academies need this now
Trials abroad, tournament dressing rooms, foreign academies and multinational coaching staffs all operate in English. A player who cannot take an instruction, argue a decision or answer an interview is limited by language, not ability.
No football federation or coaching body has a mandate to legitimise language teaching, so the English half of most football-and-English camps sits outside any educational framework.
The football programme runs on the same CEFR A1–C1 frame as our classroom and tennis courses, benchmarked against the Eaquals quality framework for curriculum, management and student care.
Four ways a club can run it
The football curriculum, session cards and rondo language mats licensed for one age group or a whole academy, delivered by your staff after training.
Your coaches and club teachers trained in the Topball method so English is scheduled inside the session rather than bolted on afterwards.
A short, intensive match-day English block for players about to trial or move abroad: team talks, referee interaction, medical and press language.
Squads travel to a Topball campus for an immersion week, or we deliver on site at your training ground during a camp window.
CEFR reporting a director can defend
The Common European Framework of Reference is the same scale universities, employers and visa systems use. Reporting a player's English on that scale turns a vague benefit into a documented outcome.
- 1EntryEach player is placed at A1–C1 with a short speaking and listening assessment taken on the pitch, not at a desk.
- 2WeeklySession records log the language target alongside the football target, so progress is visible to the coach.
- 3Block reviewA CEFR rubric score per skill — speaking, listening, reading, writing — with the specific evidence behind it.
- 4Parent reportA one-page report parents and agents can read, stating the level reached and the next level target.
